A celebration of life
Janessa Taylor Mix, born June 16, 2001, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 27, 2026, at the age of 25.
Janessa was a beautiful soul with a personality that was impossible to forget. She was bubbly, kind, witty, funny, carefree, always positive and full of life. She was always so happy. Her smile was contagious, her laughter was infectious, and she had a special way of bringing happiness and energy wherever she went. She was the kind of person who could make you laugh, brighten your day, and remind you not to take life too seriously.
One of the things that made Janessa so special was her unique combination of spontaneity and organization. She loved an adventure and was always up for something fun, but she also loved having a plan. She was fiercely independent, hardworking, determined, and capable. Whatever she set her mind to, she found her own way to make it happen.
One of Janessa’s favorite sayings was, “Everything will be OK.” No matter what the situation was, those words were her way of reassuring others and reminding them that things would work out. It was such a simple phrase, but one that reflected the positive spirit she carried with her.
Creativity and self-expression were a big part of who Janessa was. She loved clothes, crazy and unique outfits, hats, jewelry, crafting, and drawing. Music was her life and she loved dancing, music festivals, camping, beaches, hammocking, and just about anything that involved being outdoors. She also loved cooking, spicy food and pickle pizza. She loved experiencing life, making memories, and enjoying the freedom of being outside and surrounded by nature.
Above all, Janessa loved her family and friends. The people in her life meant so much to her, and she treasured the memories and experiences she shared with them. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat, Gigi, and her childhood cat, Cobie.
Janessa had a way of living that was uniquely her own. She was colorful, adventurous, independent, creative, funny, and full of energy. She embraced life in her own way, went where the adventure took her, and made the most of the moments along the way.
Although her time here was far too short, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the irreplaceable memories she created will remain with those who knew and loved her. Her smile, her spirit, and her unmistakable personality will live on in the hearts of so many.
Janessa, you were loved beyond words and we will miss you every single day. Words cannot express how much you will be missed and what you meant to us. We’re grateful for our time with you. We will carry your smile, your laughter, your adventurous spirit, and your love with us always.
